The Wauchope Preschool Kindergarten is about to undergo a refurbishment following a successful application for Federal funding.
Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie has announced $5,000 in funding under the Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities programme to assist Wauchope Preschool Kindergarten undergo an $11,000 refurbishment of its exterior.
“Wauchope Preschool Kindergarten has been operating from the same building for over 40 years. The purpose of the project is to upgrade the façade of the Preschool by rendering and painting the old brickwork across the front entry way, putting in place new signage and planting new foliage in the children’s playground,” Dr Gillespie said.
“Wauchope Preschool has an outstanding reputation for its educational programs and ongoing family involvement and this latest upgrade will help reflect the high standards they have for preschool children’s education and care.”
Wauchope Preschool Kindergarten is a not-for-profit community based organisation managed by a volunteer Parent Management Committee. Enrolments are licensed to 39 children per day across 2 rooms and they cater for children aged 3 – 6 years.
The Australian Government’s Stronger Communities programme assists with the development of small capital projects that deliver social benefits by supporting community participation, while also contributing to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.
